flowers on a cold day

Well...the play is over. I don't go back to work til tomorrow, so I've been looking for something to do. Someone expressed interest in crochet hair flowers, so I have been trying to figure out different ones. Here's a few...I clipped them on a flower pot...even though it's really cold outside...it made it seem more springy. Enjoy...

(Green and cream cotton yarn)

(This was one of the first, and is the biggest...it had a big opening in the middle, so I put a button on it.)

These little cotton guys got sewed onto an infant headband and a button added...I might have to try it out on some baby sometime soon ;)

...and while I was sticking things on clips, I had this that I tried to make last week from a DIY found on My Jellybean Garden blog...love that blog...she's so creative.

wait?? that's it?

(Our faces show kinda how I feel now)
Well...it's over, I guess...Sunday matinee is done and that's it. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now. I guess watch nighttime tv again?? Clean my house?? Sounds incredibly...non-fun.

Well...I guess I don't really have much to say this evening...so I think I'm going to go explore what my free time might have to offer me and get used to it again. I have a new project in the works...so maybe I'll show you that when I'm over being sad at the play being over lol...until next time.

One more picture for the road...

oh ya...did I forget to tell you?? Did you forget to go watch it?? I'm the killer (in the play)...and I'm not that sad about it either ;) LOL

two down...two to go...

LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL...

Well...opening night is done and gone...2nd night is in the books as well. We had an amazing audience tonight!! It always helps when they are so obviously enjoying the show. They were laughing all the way through...loudly. They almost got me on the applause for the ingredients lol...barely hung on. We did have some uh oh moments...some that we've never had before. It wasn't bad...it was just an off day, but overall it went well.

I am beat...exhausted...and dead tired...lol...it doesn't help that I contracted some kind of illness last week that doesn't want to give my lungs up without a fight...oh well...we're still trying to beat it...but I don't feel so bueno this evening.

Then, I discovered some unfortunate things had occurred while I was gone to the play at my house....but it doesn't bare mentioning and I'm over it now...and relocated to my mom's house, since she's gone anyway. (it's okay my house is still standing and stuff...and I'll go back there tomorrow...alone...without my furry friends company...they can stay here lol).

Anyway...I'm beat, as I said, so I'm going to head over to el sofa...hey...my mom has a better sofa anyway...and I'll catch up with you another day...perhaps tomorrow?? Perhaps not...we'll see...lots to do tomorrow.

If you haven't seen the show, you still have 2 more chances. Tomorrow (Sat) at 7;30 or Sunday at 2.

Hey...and comment me up down there...even if you're just saying hey what's up lol.  (PS...I've enabled anonymous comments...lol I didn't know they weren't...just throw your name at the end.)

Opening night...and a little art lol

COLORED PENCIL DRAWING..

Well...I haven't done much today...tonight is opening night of "Death by Chocolate"...which is quite exciting :) I played with some colored pencils for a while and created the above (lol)...just thought I'd share it. It was kind of light, so hard to take a picture of.

I also spent about an hour at the local coffee shop, Urban Bru...enjoying some lunch and coffee and internet...it was very fabulous...I had the Death by Chocolate :) (It's named after our play as each one they sell donates $1 to the theatre).

Tomorrow...we shall do it again...only with company :) yay..it's fun alone, but more fun with friends!

AND IN OTHER NEWS (LOL)

In a couple of hours, I will grandma up for opening night of "Death by Chocolate"...it's the last play of the season. Kinda sad...but there are four fabulous nights (well three nights and a day really) to entertain the community. I am so glad that I got to be a part of all these productions this year, as it was so much fun and I learned a lot of different things.
I love being a part of the theatre...it's kind of a special group of people...and it takes all sorts to make it work.
If you haven't made reservations, you should come! It will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights at 7:30 and Sunday matinee at 2:00. For reservations call 580-338-0019.
In still other news, I got an official job offer
today...it's been unofficial...but now...yay! Paperwork Monday and a physical lol...but hopefully that will all go okay and we'll be good to go. I'm excited for a new adventure and to learn new things! But I will miss the old...but life is about changing and growing and moving on...
Have a super day!!

it's SHOWTIME!

DEATH BY CHOCOLATE

As it turns out I have had a rather busy few months preparing for the theatre production of "Death by Chocolate"...lots of rehearsals and all that...but it's fabulous and I wouldn't trade it for the world. I love being involved in the theatre and I will be sad when it ends. I will have to find something entertaining to do for the next several months...

To that end...here are a couple of pictures of the show...there are a lot more, but they might incriminate people who wish not to be incriminated and thus ruin the show, so....

Selma and Nick...they're on the case

Various coffee shop employees and patrons...they might be up to no good

And...as much as I hate to do it, here's one that proves I am in fact there...ugg lol...we gotta work on that hair and we won't even talk about the outfit lol...oh well.

insert shameless plug....

COME SEE THE SHOW!! It's this week only Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2:30. Make your reservations by calling 580-338-0019.

tile board...or puzzle...

ARTSY CRAFTSY TIME...

I found something intriguing to do this evening, so I thought I'd share. You probably don't necessarily need a step by step, but I did one anyway.

First, here's what you need:

I found a wood tile board at Walmart (about $6), a glue gun, some craft paint (I used apple barrel), Modge Podge, and scrapbook paper or cloth. Optional: some decorations you can glue on, such as these gems and ribbon.

Take the wood blocks out and paint some of them. I chose to paint initials on 3 of them and then polka dots and a flower on 2 others...I stuck with a pink, green, and brown color scheme (obviously). For the other 4, I modge podged scrapbook paper to them. (another option is to apply fabric...it's up to you).

After your blocks dry, place them where you want them inside the wood frame and then hot glue them into place.

Never fear....you're almost done. Now, take your Modge Podge again and Modge Podge over the whole thing and let it dry.

Now decorate if you'd like. I hotglued some round stones from the gemstone collection I found and then glued a bow I made to the top. What you do is up to you.

If you would rather make it a puzzle, then don't hot glue them down. Modge Podge them individually and I would probably put felt or something on the back. Also, you could glue fabric down in the center spot if you were to make it as a puzzle. Really the possibilities are endless.

A little evening entertainment and such...

I found a cool scarf pattern...I liked it so much I made it bigger to see what it would look like as a baby blanket...it's a little heavy, but I kind of like the way it's turning out....might be nice for a winter coverup...who knows...It looks super complicated but it's actually quite easy...

Well anyway...this evening after practice for the play, I was sitting musing and drinking out of my fabulous green mug...and well...I guess I drew inspiration and this happened...

I don't really fancy myself a painter, but every once in a while I throw down with the paints and I keep some canvas on hand for such occasions...some day I might learn to do it well lol...oh well...it entertains me.

As you can tell the running color theme is pink and green...until I tire of them and find a new **signature color** lol...I guess it's now quite past time for bed...I hope you enjoyed a glimpse of creativity or amused yourself at my attempts...
